Everyones guilty of it. Especially me. You go on vacation, and the slippery slope of gourmet rich foods and lack of physical activity begins to take over. You may be on a business trip where you are working and in meetings all day and feel like you don't have time, or you are in the Caribbean and don't have the desire to leave the Cabaña you are sitting under. Wherever the place may be, just try to take 1 out of every 3 days and make time for 30 minutes of exercise. By doing this you will maintain the progression your body has made physically, before taking that break and when returning to the gym or other exercise regiments your body wont go in shock like it would otherwise!
I am speaking from personal experience at the moment because I am sitting in a coffee shop in NYC this morning reflecting on the fact I forced myself out of bed at 6 in the morning to go to the hotel gym even though every muscle told me otherwise. Yet, I still completed a short workout, and it reminded me of how exercising in the morning starts your day off right giving you a good feeling. Pair that with coffee and the day is automatically set up for success.

It doesn't have to be your most brutal workout that you have ever completed. It doesn't have to be a workout that you routinely do either. It is all about the environment you are in and the equipment you are given. I am more of an outdoor workout type person, so being confined to a gym isn't ideal.. but beggars can't really be choosers in this case. If you typically aim to workout in the gym and don't have access, come up with a different routine that maybe focuses more on high intensity interval training and personal body weight. If you are stuck in a hotel room, do some random yoga poses, push-ups, crunches or wall-sits to keep things interesting.( This goes into another category I could right a whole post about but switching up workouts is crucial!) If you don't typically run and are at the beach maybe try to run because it might be easier with a view like that ;)
All in all- DO NOT SLACK. I have learned the hardest way and heavily regret it when I come back from a trip. Being on a business trip has been the hardest because of the tight schedule but you have to make do with the time you have!
