With all of the energy that I somehow manage to maintain, I have to incorporate high intensity workouts that are a good way to release some of it. After high school, I wanted to maintain a similar style of exercise even when I wasn't participating in competitive soccer, tennis or track meets. I always thought that Soccer would be the most intense and aggressive sport I would ever play and I would never be able to get onto the same fitness level with anything else. Boy, was I wrong.
I got to talking to a good friend of mine name Latrone (Ex-Pro MMA fighter) and he told me I had way too much energy just to be doing yoga and running. So as we continued to talk, he brought up kickboxing, mentioned it was a aggressive contact sport (obviously), and immediately I was sold. My body was not prepared for the endurance, strength, and flexibility needed for this intense sport.
Every workout begins with 5 minutes of non stop jump roping

Beginning your workout with cardio immediately boosts you heart rate and sets the tone for the rest of your workout. (Obviously stretch if you need to )
Latrone usually then goes into 15 minutes of interval training- 1 Minute exercise, 10 seconds recovery.
Burpees
Rest
Punching bag, kicking bag
rest
(Jabbing, kicking, elbow jabs, combination punches etc...)
Then onto the rowing machine briefly to build some upper body resistance
Ends with "Punch outs"
Sprints
Stretching and yoga pose finishers

Keeping a varied workout is really crucial to targeting all muscle groups. Latrone always kills me at the end with sprints and a "punch out" which is punching as hard and fast as you can until the buzzer. Talk about pain the next day.. But its totally worth it in the end!
